Overstuffed sandwiches, authentic Jewish dishes and quality products keep the customers returning to the Boulevard Restaurant and Gourmet Deli.

I managed to demolish just half of a chicken salad on rye with a mouth-puckering pickle and house made potato salad. Fellow diner ate half a turkey-off-the-frame sandwich on rye with fresh-tasting cole slaw. We made a full lunch of the leftovers the next day. On our next visit, we’ll share.

Speaking of oversized, the salad platters also capture that description. They’re huge. There’s egg salad, chopped liver, shrimp, crab, tuna or whitefish. Even pancakes are hefty at Boulevard. Matzoh ball soup, smoked fish, pastrami, bagels, and omelets of all sorts are just a few other items off the expansive menu.

Pick a seat at the counter and you’ll meet new friends; their tag line, “Where friends meet friends,” is an apt one. There’s lots of conversation here among friendly customers and staff. A Palm Beach sheriff’s deputy also joined in the banter on our recent visit. Boulevard – great food, good conversation. That's enough to bring me back - soon. ©2010 Jane Feehan. All rights reserved.
