Only ferry service from West Palm Beach begins tours

Lake Worth Lagoon

100 N. Flagler, West Palm Beach 33401

American Buccaneer Excursions recently began service from West Palm Beach on the Intracoastal Waterway up to and around Peanut Island. It is the only ferry service leaving from the city.

Excursions aboard the Biloxi-built vessel to Peanut Island include a scenic cruise along the waterway and a tour of the historical island, site of a bunker built during the Cuban Missile Crisis for President Kennedy. A café operates on the restored boat, American Buccaneer, selling boxed lunches and drinks. A cruise and tour runs $29.50 for adults; children free.

There’s more.

American Buccaneer offers weekly sunset cruises leaving West Palm Beach at 6:30 and returning at 8 p.m. for $17.50.  It departs from the West Palm Beach city waterfront north dock. Mixed drinks and appetizers are also offered.  Sunset aboard a vintage boat with a few extras sounds like a perfect way to start an evening or to complete a day - whether one is a tourist or local celebrating a special occasion.
