Honor Flight: Support vets tonight with a stroll on Las Olas

Honor our veterans with a visit to Las Olas Boulevard tonight from 5:30 to 8 p.m. For $20 strollers along the boulevard can get a free cocktail plus discounted drinks and appetizers at Big City Tavern, American Social, and Cheese Culture (all sit on the north side of the street). Proceeds will go to Honor Flight, a nonprofit organization honoring America’s veterans for their sacrifices.

The organization transports World War II vets and others who are terminally ill to the nation’s capitol to visit their memorials. Flights from Fort Lauderdale to Washington, D.C. will begin in October.  According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, 640 WWII vets die each day.
