About Me

: I grew up in South Florida and graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School. I hold a BA in history and a Master of Liberal Arts with a concentration in history from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston. Additionally, I have written for the Sun-Sentinel, other South Florida newspapers and taught American history at the University of Phoenix. I've served more than 15 years with FEMA as a writer and public affairs specialist deployed to numerous disasters across the country.
