“From SOHO to SOFLA” a wall sign claims at this cozy eatery in Fort Lauderdale. Their customers are pleased with their move from New York City to a spot near Federal Highway and Oakland Park Boulevard (also accessible via Middle River Drive).
Open only a few months at this writing, SOHO offers breakfast, brunch, and lunch until 6 pm. Breakfast choices include eggs, French toast, omelets—a couple notches above standard fare of other restaurants. Lattes and a line-up of coffees draw regulars as well as staff from local or proximate businesses during the entire day.
Made-to-order salads with add-ons including skirt steak will please most any palate. They serve a variety of tasty sandwiches such as grilled or fried chicken topped with pesto aioli, their SK sauce (their own) or most any customer request. Bread choices include ciabatta, wraps and other standards. Burgers? Yes! Sides on sandwich orders include fries, onion rings and other items.
Pricing is quite reasonable. There are not many eateries where one can lunch for $20, which includes a gourmet sandwich, a tall glass of lemonade and a tasty side. It’s here.
In addition to dining at their comfortable SOHO Kitchen digs, they offer online ordering and their own delivery. Relatively new, this kitchen is still adjusting its hours and menus; they are extremely accommodating. SOHO Kitchen is located in a busy shopping center, so parking may be tight at certain times of the day. A drive around the lot a time or two is worth it.
